This is basically the best thing ever! All you have to do is cook the meat and throw everything together!
Meat Preparation:
Simmer ground beef in a skillet, tossing some salsa, cumin, and paprika on it, along with a taco seasoning mix if you so desire.
Dressing:
This is gonna sound weird, and trust me, nobody hates mayo more than I do, but mayo and ketchup are the two ingredients to the dressing. Mix them together to taste, or when you cant taste more of one than the other.
Salad:
Toss in these ingredients:
Lettuce, tomatoes, avocados, carrots, sliced black olives, corn, cheese, red bell peppers, kidney beans, and whatever salady things your precious heart desires :)
Works well with taco sauce, Tabasco, sour cream and chips crushed in it.
Enjoy!
Cabbage Rolls:
Ingredients:
1 head of cabbage (washed and leaves detached whole)
1 pound of ground beef
2 cups of brown rice
1 jar of marinara sauce
Parmesan cheese (to taste)
Once rice and meat are cooked, combine them and roll a small portion of them in the cabbage rolls. Place stuffed cabbage in skillet, and pour sauce over it and simmer on low until cabbage leaves are cooked tender. Sprinkle with cheese and enjoy this healthy alternative to the more traditional pasta :)
This is a great way to start your day, and I swear its how i do it every morning. With each picture there is an assortment of food that go great together in a shake, but the most fun part about this recipe is that you can really make it your own. Try adding a scoop or two of protien powder to it, and you’ll find that this keeps you full longer, and not wanting to reach for a mid morning snack.
Cheers!
Because we grew up in a house that did not run on crackers or pop tarts, we had to find an alternative way to snack. Peanut butter was the best way to go, and it’s good for you too. Spread some on slices of banan or apple or celery, or with any friut or vegtable you can stand it on. doign this eliminates the carbs you would comsume settling for a handful of pretzels.
This is something that has been a family favorite for as long as I can remember. It makes a great side dish and/or snack.
Sliced cucumbers and tomatos in balsamic vinegar.
Since it is the day of The Super Bowl, I thought we’d start out with a party favorite. Yupp, that’s right, popcorn!
what you may not know, is that popcorn is actually good for you because it contains the essential “good” fats that your body needs. In order to preserve these fats in the popcorn though, is to cook it in a covered pot over a medium heated stove. What I have recently discovered is that it is extrmely tasty when made with coconut oil. I know it sounds weird, but it doesn’t taste like coconut, and it’s worth a try. You don’t even need the added carbs of butter, so this snap leaves you satisfied but not bloated.
